New Mum Support

Gentle support for the moments you feel stretched thin.

Becoming a new mum is wonderful, exhausting, and overwhelming — often all in the same day. Calm Mum, also known as The Calm Mum, offers small, realistic ways to care for yourself while you care for your baby.

Looking After You

The Looking After You section is built around eight short, practical cards — Rest & Recovery, Eating & Drinking, Gentle Movement, Visitors & Boundaries, Asking for Help, Emotional Ups and Downs, Appointments & Check-ins, and a 60-second Quick Calm Reset for the harder moments. Each card focuses on small things you can actually do today, not vague affirmations.

Practical scripts for asking for help

Many new mums find it easier to ask for help when they have a few ready-made phrases. Calm Mum gives you copyable scripts like “Could you hold the baby while I shower?” or “Could you bring food instead of staying long?” — small sentences that often unlock a lot of practical support.

When to reach for extra help

Most postnatal feelings settle with time, rest, and support. If feelings are intense, frightening, or are not easing, please reach out to your GP, midwife, or health visitor — postnatal mood is common and treatable, and you are not alone.

Calm Mum is educational support, not medical advice. It does not replace your midwife, GP, health visitor, maternity unit, or emergency services.

If you are worried about your recovery, your mood, or your baby's health, contact your midwife, GP, health visitor, maternity unit, emergency services, or local healthcare provider.
